An Eco-Toilet Just for your Family
At King's Mill each of our 14 pitches hosts their very own private and very easy to use compost toilet. When used correctly this will stay clean and odourless for the duration of your stay. Our toilets are emptied and cleaned to a very high standard every week and the 'contents' are then taken away to our on site composting facility. This is where the magic happens - Over time this will become a rich fertiliser for thousands of trees. Good to know you are giving back to nature! Our custom made eco-loos are equipped with a bucket of sawdust with scoop, dustpan and brush, sanitary bin, toilet paper and has a handy hook on the door. Instructions are included but we talk you through the way it works on arrival to ensure that you get off to a good start.
Your own Hot Shower
Shower among the Pembrokeshire stars or wash off your sandy toes in your own hand made shower. You will be able to adjust the temperature from cool to hot according to your mood. Each shower cubicle has a mirror, hooks and a shelf to store your own eco-products (these are essential kit!). 2023 will see the addition of a fold down shelf with basin so that that you can wash hands and use when shaving.
Communal Washing Up Area
You'll be vying for it to be your turn to do the washing up in this tranquil and shady spot. Here you can wash up the dishes after you have cooked over your open fire (each pitch has it's own) and listen out for our resident Lesser spotted woodpeckers. Eco-friendly hand soap and washing up liquid are provided. Help yourself to our home grown herbs at the entrance and spend time planning your next adventures as you peruse our very popular 'Things to do in the area board'.
Y Siop Cwtchi - Our Little Honesty Shop
There is so much about King's Mill Camping that is unique but we are very proud of our little honesty shop that stocks an array of local, home-made and eco-friendly produce. Our range seems to expand every year as campers suggest the quirky and the necessary!
We simply ask that you keep tally of all you take on the clipboard labelled with your pitch name. Then meet at the shop from 8am on the Saturday you leave to settle up. It couldn't be easier.
We are proud to stock Pembrokeshire favourites supplied by The Pembrokeshire Beachfood Company, Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm and The Fudge Foundry to name just a few.
Eco-Friendly shampoos and soaps made by local hands and Faith In Nature products are bound to entice you into your private on pitch shower.
Fruit and veg from our land are used to make our delicious range of jams and chutneys at very reasonable prices. Taking one of these home will allow you to savour your Pembrokeshire memories long after the suitcases have been unpacked.
As well as these treats we stock those all important marshmallows, skewers and chocolate biscuits for s'mores fans and beach essentials such as sandcastle flags, buckets and spades (eco-friendly of course!) and insect repellent so effective even The Royal Marines use it.
Not to leave out our four legged friends; we sell doggy ice-cream and dog treats - Only for well behaved dogs as those are the only type welcome at King's Mill.
Our chest freezer is stocked with ice packs that you can borrow and return at the end of the day, though of course you are welcome to bring your own and leave in a labelled bag. In the freezer there is a range of ice-creams and lolly pops. Perfect after a long day at the beach. Milk, butter, black pudding, bacon, burgers and sausages produced by award winning Prendergast butchers are a barbecue lovers dream .
Free Firewood
Enjoy the ritual of being a hunter gatherer here at King's Mill. We have 7 acres of Ancient woodland to explore with hidden rope swings and secret paths through glady flora to the babbling brook. Collect firewood as you meander through the forest or visit our woodshed and collect pre chopped logs. No kindling? grab a maul to chop your own.
